Comprehensive Plan

AGSD is focused on accelerating student growth and achievement by strengthening our multi-tiered system of scaffolded supports (MTSS) in each building. Each school will develop an Accelerating Growth and Achievement Plan (AGAP) using the following two goal areas: Focus on High-Quality Academics and Foster Supportive Learning Environments.

AGSD is committed to ensuring that all students achieve the highest levels of literacy performance. In order to accomplish this goal, AGSD embarked upon developing a comprehensive literacy plan during the 2018-2019 school year, which is now updated on an annual basis. The plan is modeled after the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s “Pennsylvania State Literacy Plan” (PaSLP) and embodies a theme of “Illuminating Literacy.” View our Comprehensive Literacy Plan - Illuminating Literacy.

The overall intent of the Facilities Strategic Initiative is to evaluate the current building infrastructure and develop a plan for the future aligned with the mission and vision of Avon Grove School District. The plan includes best uses for the existing facilities and sites to meet the needs of students, based on the strategic plan, the educational programs and enrollment projections. In addition, the plan includes renovation and maintenance needs for the current buildings as well as the potential for future expansion of facilities based upon the educational goals of the district. For more information, visit the Facilities page.

At the start of the 2022-2023 school year, AGSD implemented a dual language immersion program to aid students in the development of bilingualism and biliteracy. In each classroom, half of the students are native speakers of English and the other half are native speakers of Spanish. Similarly, half of the students' instructional day is conducted in English and half is conducted in Spanish. For more information, visit our Dual Language Immersion Program webpage.

To support students in becoming Future Ready, AGSD designed the Profile of a Future Ready Avon Grove Graduate. The Profile was designed to establish clear outcomes for students, that are aligned with the needs of our community and the 21st century workforce. Visit the Profile of a Graduate Page for more information.

Effective communication is a strategic focus for the District, ensuring students, parents, and staff remain well-informed and engaged. Since Avon Grove School District’s first communications audit in 2015, the district has remained committed to fostering strong, transparent, and engaging communication with all stakeholders. The 2025-2028 Strategic Communications Plan builds upon this commitment by prioritizing engagement, culture, and accessibility. For more information, review our most Strategic Communications plan.
