Library Media Centers
Imagineer: "A person who devises and implements a new or highly imaginative concept or technology..." - Oxford Dictionary
The Learning Media Centers (LMC) in the Avon Grove School District are locations where students and teachers do not just examine information and the thinking of others, but instead create new pathways based on their own creativity. The LMCs are specifically designed to encourage the collaboration and creativity of students, dispelling the traditional view of this space being quiet and print-material focused.
The elementary LMCs each contain a Makerspace. A Makerspace is DIY lab where students can gather to create, invent, and learn. Please watch this video about our Makerspaces and click here to learn about the technology contained in the Makerspaces. The secondary LMCs each have spaces for quiet study, collaboration, technology and class meetings. The resource catalog at all four LMCs is managed by the district librarian.
Families can access online resources from the LMCs on the AGSD Student page.
