What’s the latest with Senior Prom?

This year’s senior prom will be held on Thursday, June 10th at the DuPont Country Club from 6-10 pm. While we were very excited to host an event at the Phoenixville Foundry, unfortunately, their current capacity is still set at 125 guests, which wouldn’t allow us to host the entire senior class. With that in mind, we were fortunate enough to still have last year’s contract with DuPont Country Club from our Class of 2020. After speaking with the 2020 officers, they were kind enough to gift this opportunity to our current seniors so they could have the prom they truly deserve.

DuPont is able to host all 410 members of the senior class, using both their indoor and outdoor facilities. Due to spacing restrictions, this event will be limited to AGHS senior students only. 

When Can I Buy My Ticket? 

Tickets will go on sale on Monday, May 24th. Students will be able to purchase tickets through the online payment portal where activity fees are submitted. More information on this process will be shared as we get close to the start of ticket sales. 

Does AGHS Have a Graduation Date? 

AGHS graduation will officially be set for Friday, June 11th in our stadium. While we still have not received a final decision from the University of Delaware, we will be moving forward with planning graduation at AGHS for 7 pm on 6/11. If the University comes back to us that they can host our graduation on Friday, June 11th in their stadium,  we will hold our ceremony there. If not, we will host the ceremony at AGHS. We are still hopeful that we will be able to utilize the University of Delaware, as this will allow us to provide more tickets to families. 

In the event of inclement weather, graduation will be hosted at AGHS or the University of Delaware on Saturday, June 12th at 11 am. 

How Many Tickets Will I Receive?

The number of tickets we are able to provide will depend on the most recent health and safety guidelines as we get closer to the event date. Holding the event at the University of Delaware would likely allow us to provide each student with a greater number of tickets.

El baile de graduación de este año se llevará a cabo el jueves 10 de junio en el DuPont Country Club de 6 a 10 pm. Si bien estábamos muy emocionados de organizar un evento en Phoenixville Foundry, desafortunadamente, su capacidad actual todavía está establecida en 125 invitados, lo que no nos permitiría albergar a toda la clase senior. Si bien todavía no hemos recibido una decisión final de la Universidad de Delaware, seguiremos adelante con la planificación de la graduación en AGHS para las 7 pm el 6/11. Si la Universidad nos dice que pueden albergar nuestra graduación el viernes 11 de junio en su estadio, realizaremos nuestra ceremonia allí. De lo contrario, organizaremos la ceremonia en AGHS. Todavía tenemos la esperanza de poder utilizar la Universidad de Delaware, ya que esto nos permitirá proporcionar más boletos a las familias.

Good afternoon everyone, 

This week, we’re excited to share a timeline of events for the spring season for our Class of 2021. The link can be found here, as well as on the “Class of 2021” AGHS webpage, found here. This timeline encompasses the activities we’re currently planning to celebrate our seniors- more details on each component will be shared as we get closer to each event. 

Additionally, there are two different opportunities for students being organized by caregivers of the Class of 2021. 

Senior Masks

A local small business in Oxford has designed masks that caregivers can purchase to celebrate the Class of 2021. Masks are great for everyday use to show your senior pride- they can also be a keepsake for the future!  If you have any questions, please ask the print shop directly -you will order through the website, found here, and masks will ship directly to you.  Details on pricing are available on the website. On the front screen, please be sure to scroll down and click on the quantity you want. 

Senior Yard Signs

Instasigns based out of Newark, DE has a web store of various options for senior signs. You can review the options here. All signs will be shipped directly to one of our AGHS caregiver’s homes, who will then arrange pick-up. Signs should arrive in mid-April and all orders are due by 11:59pm on April 5th. 

 

Please note, the district will also be purchasing senior signs, with distributions scheduled for May 15.

Senior Scholarship Information 

The Avon Grove High School Guidance Department coordinates the Senior Awards Night that is held annually at Avon Grove High School.  In order for students to be considered for the various scholarships and awards given out at this event, they must complete the 2020-2021 Avon Grove High School Scholarship and Award Application. Due to COVID-19 and enhanced safety measures, this application must be completed online via this link:  https://forms.gle/VSXwuM5KkLFjm6Ew5.

Awards will be based on a combination of factors including scholastic achievement, leadership, and financial need.  It is advisable for those students who wish to apply for the $1,000 "Fund-A-Future" Scholarships to complete the financial portion of the application.  The financial information provided will be seen only by the guidance counselors during the initial review of the applications.  All seniors and graduation-eligible students are encouraged to complete this application.  Students must also turn in a completed AGHS Scholarship Foundation Application Addendum, which must be turned in via the Google Form above.

The 2020-2021 Avon Grove High School Scholarship and Award Application must be completed via the above Google Form by FRIDAY, APRIL 16th, 2021 at 2:45 p.m.  

Adopt a Senior 

The AG 2021 Adopt a Senior Facebook page is still hoping to see more students be “adopted”! Please consider joining the page to have your senior adopted by a member in the community who will send notes of encouragement and small gifts to help make their senior year more special.  To participate, you will need to answer the membership questions and read both announcements.  If you do not utilize Facebook,  other students can post their friends, or other parents, teachers, or guidance counselors are able to as well.

Senior Sign distribution is scheduled for Saturday, May 15th. We look forward to celebrating our senior class with the community!

• When will graduation take place for the Class of 2021? 

Friday, June 11th at 7pm, either at the AGHS stadium or the University of Delaware's stadium.

• What happens in the event of inclement weather on our scheduled graduation date?

If needed, graduation will be held Saturday, June 12th at 11am, either at the AGHS stadium or the University of Delaware's stadium. 

• How many tickets will each student receive? 

The number of tickets students receive will depend on health and safety guidelines at the time of the event. 

• Will there be a Senior Prom?

Prom will be held Thursday, June 10th from 6-10pm at DuPont Country Club. 

• When will tickets go on sale? 

The Class of 2021 Officers will begin selling tickets on Monday, May 24th. 

• How can I sign up to volunteer to assist with event planning? 

At this current time, outside volunteers are prohibited by our health and safety plan; however, if there are opportunities to assist with off-campus aspects, we will send out an interest form. Please note, in the event that we are able to accommodate on-campus volunteers, all volunteers will need to have up to date clearances to be able to participate.
