Dr. Scott DeShong, a district employee and resident for nearly a decade, developed a 100-day entry plan centered on the theme “Communication, Collaboration, and Community.” During these first six months, the focus was on listening, learning, and leading—gaining a clear understanding of Avon Grove School District’s strengths, challenges, and priorities through meaningful engagement with students, staff, families, and community partners.
These conversations underscored the importance of communication, collaboration, and strong community partnerships in supporting student success, well-being, and belonging.
This entry plan summary highlights what was heard, what was learned, and how those insights will guide leadership decisions and next steps as we continue building a district where every student is prepared to succeed and shape their own future.
