Future Ready Technology Plan

The Impact of Technology Team created this plan during the 2024-2025 school year. The team consisted of stakeholders from across the school district including students, educators, administrators, community members from the comprehensive plan team, and school board directors. The actions outlined in this plan are designed to be implemented from 2025 to 2028. They directly connect to Avon Grove's vision for all students to be well prepared to create their futures.

Goal #1

Electronic Devices

By the end of the 2027-2028 school year, AGSD will enhance responsible technology integration by implementing a curriculum-aligned digital knowledge framework, promoting higher-level technology use, encouraging off-screen collaboration, and establishing clear expectations for personal devices.

- Curriculum writing leads receive training on the Integration of Digital Knowledge Framework
- The skills and knowledge in the Integration of Digital Knowledge Framework are added to course curriculum maps as courses are written or revised
- Provide time for curriculum leads to share new and revised curriculum maps with their teams and time for technology liaisons to share the K-12 scope and sequence

Promote Higher-level Technology Use
- Collaborate with the Future of Learning Action Team to develop an instructional vision or framework using concepts from technology integration models
- Provide professional development on purposeful use of technology, offline student collaboration, and classroom management reinforcement strategies
- Offer flex course options for deeper learning on technology integration

Communicate Expectations for Personal Electronic Devices
- Develop Administrative Rules for Policy 237, Electronic Devices
- Integrate updated policy and practices into the Positive Behavior Systems of Support (PBIS) practices
- Update student handbooks and beginning of the year procedures to communicate expectations

By the end of the 2027-2028 school year, AGSD will strengthen family engagement through accessible resources by developing a mobile-friendly website and providing families with resources and opportunities for dialogue regarding the impact of technology, including guidance on cell phone and social media use.
