Student Privacy Protection

The Avon Grove School District provides online storage, productivity, collaboration applications, and email services to students using Google's G Suite for Education (formerly known as Google Apps for Education or GAFE). This service, as well as authorized third party partner providers, allow the District to manage and monitor student use of these services in accordance with our Acceptable Use Policy #815 and COPPA. Please visit the G Suite's privacy protections page for more information.

The Avon Grove School District uses many valuable online tools to further instructional goals, personalize curriculum, and meet necessary data management and reporting functions. The District protects student privacy in compliance with applicable federal laws and school board policies. Any software service provider and vendor with whom the District contracts agrees to protect student privacy using all commercially reasonable means and complies with all federal laws prohibiting use of student information for commercial marketing purposes.

Federal privacy laws (FERPA) do allow sharing of what may constitute an ‘educational record’ in limited circumstances.  For more information about protecting student privacy, please visit this resource FerpaSherpa: The Education Privacy Resource Center.
