College Athletic Information

Competing at the collegiate level is a significant commitment that requires careful consideration. Student-athletes interested in pursuing opportunities at the NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III, NAIA, or junior college levels should discuss their goals with their family, coaches, and school counselor to ensure they understand the academic, athletic, and personal commitments involved.

The resources provided on this page offer valuable information about college athletic divisions, eligibility requirements, recruiting timelines, and the overall recruiting process. We encourage families to explore these resources early in a student's high school career to better prepare for the opportunities and responsibilities of collegiate athletics.

NCAA Information
The NCAA Website offers quite a bit of information for Future NCAA Student-Athletes. Another two key items on this site for you to view are the publications: College-Bound Student-Athlete and the NCAA Initial Eligibility Brochure (Road Map to Initial Eligibility).

The NCAA Eligibility Center has a student-athlete website and registration process for college-bound student-athletes. The NCAA feels that this website will aid administrators and coaches in easily accessing the vital information needed to assist student-athletes and parents with the registration, academic and amateurism certification process. It will also make the registration process easier for student-athletes, while providing them with a more interactive environment to begin their NCAA student-athlete experience. Visit the registration website. Use the "Resources" link to get a checklist of registering with the NCAA.

View the changing NCAA initial-eligibility standards quick reference sheet.

To find out what AGHS courses are approved by the NCAA as "core courses" you will need to go to the NCAA Eligibility High School Portal and enter the AGHS NCAA High School Code: 395180 and click Search.

NAIA Information
The NAIA Website also offers quite a bit of information within their menus. One of the key items in this menu you can find under Play Sports in College is a downloadable document entitled Guide for the NAIA College-Bound Student-Athlete.
