BARNES & NOBLE BOOK FAIR FOR FOR THE AVON GROVE SCHOOL DISTRICT

5-29-07 On Friday, June 1st, Barnes & Noble on Route 202 in Concord, Delaware, is sponsoring a Book Fair for Avon Grove from 5:30 to 8:30. Please stop by to browse books, listen to stories, and play thinking games. A flyer and voucher will be printed on the back of this week's edition of the Voice and is available to download here. The voucher will identify you as a Penn London parent; Barnes & Noble will send a percentage of your purchases to PLE for the library and classroom libraries. We look forward to seeing you there!

PLE and AGI Buses Delayed This Afternoon

May 24, 2007 Please be advised that the school buses are running about an hour behind schedule for drop off today because several busloads of AGI students returning from a field trip to the Philadelphia Zoo were stuck in traffic. AGI and PLE buses normally leave the campus between 3:10 and 3:20 p.m. for the afternoon run. Boarding began at about 3:50 p.m. today due to the delay. The field trip buses are expected back at the PLE/AGI campus by about 4 p.m.

Congratulations to Ms. Rebecca Roberts, the Avon Grove School District’s nominee for the “Citadel Heart of Learning Award”! Becky represents the fine teaching staff of PLE. Thank you to all parents who took the time to write letters of nomination to recognize and thank teachers, while raising awareness of the impact that their hard work and dedication have on students and the community.

BLUE ROCKS Reading Celebration

5-1-07 Over 600 students from Penn London participated in the Blue Rocks Reading Incentive program and earned tickets to the baseball game on Sunday. A fun time was had by all!

Teacher Inservice

5-3-07 DON'T FORGET! School will be closed Tuesday, May 15, for our Teacher Inservice!

PLACEMENT LETTERS FOR THE 2007-2008 SCHOOL YEAR

4-20-07 Placement letters for the 2007-2008 school year were sent home with the students last week. All forms should be completed and returned no later than Friday, April 27. If we do not receive your form by that date, we assume you have no specific preference and wish the school to choose an appropriate placement for your child.

Bus Pass for 52 and 16

4-27-07 We have received notice from our Transportation Department that we may not issue bus passes for buses 52 and 16 as they have reached capacity. This is in addition to buses 4, 81, and 102, which were flagged earlier in the year.

4-20-07Hershey Park Tickets are here and may be picked up on April 27 in the cafeteria from 6:00-8:00 PM.
