Kindergarten and new first grade registrations for the 2012-2013 school year will be held at Penn London Elementary School as follows:
March 26, 2012– 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.- 2:30 p.m.
March 27, 2012– 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m.
March 28, 2012– 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m.
March 29, 2012– 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.- 3:00 p.m.
March 30, 2012– 9 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Parents and guardians may register their children after these dates by appointment
only.
To qualify for 2012-2013 kindergarten classes a child must be 5-years old
on or before September 8, 2012. New first grade students must be 6-years old
on or before September 8, 2012.
You are REQUIRED to present your child’s original birth certificate or official verification of birth date, proof of residency, and immunization records. The registration will not be processed unless all required documents are presented.
A physical examination is required to enter school. Immunizations required by the state of Pennsylvania for students entering kindergarten or Grade 1 are:
• 4 doses of tetanus* (one dose on or after 4th birthday)
• 4 doses of diphtheria* (one dose on or after 4th birthday)
• 3 doses of polio
• 2 doses of measles** (first dose after 1st birthday)
• 2 dose mumps **
• 1 dose rubella (German Measles)**
• 3 doses hepatitis B
• 2 dose of varicella (chickenpox) vaccine (dose after 1st birthday) or history of disease* usually given as DTP or DtaP or DT or Td
** usually given as MMR
Parents and guardians need to call the school prior to registration to obtain a registration packet, which includes forms and general information on the registration process.
Avon Grove School District expects to register three hundred new students for the 2012-2013 school year. Expect delays at times during the registration period.
