Perfect Penguin Party Highlights!

This is the fifth year that Penn London is celebrating March as Youth Art Month (YAM). We are going to join thousands of schools across our nation in commemoration of the national celebration. This observance is in recognition of the contribution made by visual arts to the total education of our children.

Your family’s participation is requested in our YAM 2007 project . “The Perfect Penguin Party” is this year’s theme. Our perfect penguins will party in the Arctic lights throughout the halls of our school during the month of March. Please be a part of this event by preparing a YAM penguin with your children.

In addition to this letter your child will come home with a tag board penguin cutout. To help your family, there are some suggestions at the bottom of this site. Hopefully, these ideas will help you know how to present your penguin as you attempt to pizzazz your penguins personality.

Pick a night, or weekend to get together and create your penguin prior to the due date of Thursday MARCH 1st, 2007, so pencil in the date. Pace yourselves and pack the penguin pattern with paint, paste, or pasta, and pile on plenty of pint-size patterns. Picture what you could do to your pudgy penguin shape to portray your family’s own polar perception.

Put whatever you want on your penguin to capture its essence, but please remember-permanent items only! Protect your penguin by using non-edible items that will not spoil. FOOD ITEMS THAT SPOIL MAY GET YOUR PENGUIN IN THE PENALTY BOX! ! Finally, using your best penmanship, post your name on the front along with your child’s name, family color, and room number. Then march their happy feet back to the art room igloo, so we can pin-up your penguins at Penn London’s polar penthouse.

Your plump plucky penguins will be on display at Penn London during the month of March. So please participate in the party.
