Dear Parents or Guardians,
This is the second year that Penn London is celebrating March as Youth Art Month (YAM). We are going to join thousands of schools across our nation in commemoration of the national celebration. This observance is in recognition of the contribution made by visual arts to the total education of our children.
Your family’s participation is requested in our YAM 2004 project. The “Flipping Frog Fest” is this year’s theme. Our froggy friends will swim through the fabulous frog’s limelight in the halls of our school during the month of March. Please be a part of this hopping event by preparing a YAM frog with your children.
Your child will be leaping home with a tagboard frog in addition to this letter. To help your family I have chosen names from the list which are listed below. This could help you decorate and bring your frog to the forefront.
Pick a night or weekend to get together and fix up your frog ‘fore the due date of MONDAY MARCH 1st. Jump into it and fatten up your frog facsimile with fashionable and functional frills, fastening on the foil, feathers, and fricasseed frogments. Figure out what you could do to finesse your fine froggy to fictionalize your family fantasy.
Put whatever you want on your frog to finesse it but please remember- permanent items only! FOOD ITEMS THAT WILL SPOIL OR CROAK CAN NOT BE DISPLAYED!! Finally, post your frog’s name on the front along with your children’s’ name, family color, room number, and frog march them back to the art room for our YAM exhibit.
Our ambitious amphibians will be something to croak about in our school during the month of March. Please grace us with your presence to peruse our froggers anytime during Youth Art Month.
Thanks,
Mrs. Shiley
Choose one of these names, or come up with one of your own. Try to make it “Art” related. Your Frog should be decorated to fit the name you choose.
