AÑO ESCOLAR 2008-2009
Kindergarten and new first grade registrations for the 2008-2009 school year will be held at Penn London Elementary School as follows:Monday, March 3, 2008– 9 a.m. -11:30 a.m. and 12:30-2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2008– 9 a.m. -11:30 a.m. and 12:30-2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2008– 9 a.m. -12:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2008– 9 a.m. -12:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2008– 9 a.m. -12:00 p.m. and 1:30-3:30 p.m. Parents and guardians may register their children after these dates by appointment only. To qualify for 2008-2009 kindergarten classes a child must be 5-years old on or before September 8, 2008. New first grade students must be 6-years old on or before September 8, 2008. You are REQUIRED to present your child’s birth certificate or official verification of birth date, proof of residency, and immunization records. The registration will not be processed unless all required documents are presented. A Tuberculin skin test and physical examination are required to enter school. Immunizations required by the state of Pennsylvania for students entering kindergarten or Grade 1 are:
* usually given as DTP or DtaP or DT or Td ** usually given as MMR Parents and guardians need to call the school prior to registration to obtain a registration packet, which includes forms and general information on the registration process. Avon Grove School District expects to register three hundred new students for the 2007-2008 school year. Expect delays at times during the registration period. Las inscripciones del año escolar 2008-2009 para jardín de infantes y de nuevos alumnos para primer grado se llevarán a cabo en la Escuela primaria Penn London en las siguientes fechas:3 de marzo de 2008– de 9 a 11:30 a.m. y de 12:30 a 2:30 p.m. 4 de marzo de 2008– de 9 a 11:30 a.m. y de 12:30 a 2:30 p.m. 5 de marzo de 2008– de 9 a 12:00 p.m. y de 5:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m. 6 de marzo de 2008– de 9 a 12:00 p.m. y de 5:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m. 7 de marzo de 2008– de 9 a 12:00 p.m. y de 1:30 a 3:30 p.m. Los padres y tutores pueden inscribir a sus hijos después de estas fechas sólo si conciertan una cita. A fin de inscribirse en las clases de jardín de infantes, los niños tienen que haber cumplido 5 años de edad el 8 de septiembre de 2008 o antes de esa fecha. Los nuevos alumnos que se inscriben para 1º grado tienen que haber cumplido 6 años de edad el 8 de septiembre de 2008 o antes de esa fecha. ES NECESARIO PRESENTAR la partida de nacimiento o algún otro comprobante oficial de la fecha de nacimiento del niño, así como su certificado de residencia y registros de las inmunizaciones recibidas. La inscripción no se procesará a menos que se presenten todos los documentos requeridos. Para ingresar a la escuela es necesario presentar una prueba intradérmica de tuberculina y un examen médico de aptitud. Las inmunizaciones que exige el estado de Pennsylvania para los alumnos que ingresan a jardín de infantes o 1º grado son las siguientes:
* Usualmente recibe el nombre de DTP, DtaP, DT o Td ** Usualmente recibe el nombre de MMR Se alienta a los padres y tutores a comunicarse con la escuela antes de inscribir a los niños con el fin de recibir los materiales de inscripción con formularios e información general acerca del proceso de inscripción. El Distrito escolar Avon Grove prevé inscribir trescientos nuevos alumnos para el año escolar 2008-2009. Durante el período de inscripción es posible que deba esperar a ser atendido. Eligibility as per Avon Grove School District Board Policy No. 201, Title
22, Sec. 11.14 states "A child is eligible for admission to kindergarten
if s/he has attained the age of five (5) years on or before September 8th
of each school term."
Title 22, Sec. 11.15 states "A beginner (grade 1) is elibible for admission
to the lowest grade of the primary school above the kindergarten level if
s/he has attained the age of six (6) years on or before September 8th of each
school term."

REQUIREMENTS FOR REGISTRATION OF NEW STUDENTS
The following should be brought with you when
you register:
YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO REGISTER WITHOUT ALL OF THE
FOLLOWING INFORMATION AND DOCUMENTS.
*Completed Registration Form including the Section 1304-A Sworn Statement.
*Proof of Residency (tax bill, utility bill, rent receipt, lease, settlement sheet, homeowner’s or renter’s insurance ...) Please note: A post office box is not acceptable as proof of residency. Also, we will not accept another person's address unless additional documentation is provided. Non-resident students will be required to pay tuition until the time that they actually move into the district.
*Birth Certificate, hospital record, or baptism certificate for proof of birth date
*Transportation Form, necessary in order to place child on school bus.
*Daycare Form should be filled out only if daycare/babysitting
is planned for a location other
than your home address, the school office must be notified in writing at the
time of registration or by June 30. .

Otherwise, return them prior to July 30. (Students transferring from another
school will be required
to provide these reports if they are not received with the records from the

REQUISITOS DE MATRICULACION PARA LOS ESTUDIANTES NUEVOS
Cuando Ud. venga a matricular a su hijo/a, favor de traer lo siguiente:
*Formulario de Matriculación lleno, incluso Articulo 1304 – Declaracion Jurada
*Prueba de Residencia (un recibo de renta, cuenta
de electricidad, o cualquier cuenta de servicios públicos.)
Por favor recuerde Ud: Que un numero de apartado no es aceptado como prueba
de residencia. También no aceptaremos la dirección de otra persona
a menos que haya documentación adicional.
*Numero de Propiedad o Numero de mapa si Ud. es
dueño de su casa. Este numero aparece
en su cuenta de impuestos, en su hoja de liquidación, o en su cuenta
de agua.
*Certificado de Nacimiento, registro de hospital o certificado de bautismo.
*Solicitud de Transporte, necesario para ponerle a su nino/a en el bus.
*Formulario de Guarderia: Favor de llenar si el
estudiante estara en otro sitio aparte de la residencia. La oficina de la
escuela de su hijo/a tiene que saber por escrito de los arreglos. Favor de
indicar los planes cuando Ud. le matricule a
su hijo/a antes del 30 de junio a mas tardar.

*Los Certificados de Vacunación
*Cuestionario de Kindergarden o *Transferido Informacion
