Avon Grove School District schools participated in a number of community outreach activites this holiday season, including holding holiday food drives; helping to prep, serve, and perform at a holiday dinner for those less fortunate; and performing holiday concerts at a local retirement community and nursing home. Fred S. Engle Middle School thanks Avon Grove High School student Steven S. for contributing in a significant way to the instructional program at Engle, as Steven recently constructed an outdoor classroom on Engle’s campus as his Eagle Scout project. This outdoor classroom is beautifully constructed, and will undoubtedly provide plentiful learning opportunities for our middle school students for years to come.

Please be advised that all district schools will close early on Tuesday, December 23, 2008. Fred S. Engle Middle School will dismiss at 12:20 p.m. Schools will remain closed for students through Winter Recess, and will reopen on Monday, January 5, 2009.

At the regular meeting of the Avon Grove School District Board of School Directors on November 25, 2008, the Board appointed Mr. Michael Snopkowski as principal of Fred S. Engle Middle School. Mr. Snopkowski is scheduled to begin his new position on December 16, 2008.
