Please be advised that 7th and 8th grade Engle students will participate in a computerized assessment system called Measures of Academic Performance (MAP) the week of May 19, 2008.  Please click here to read more.

At the end of the school year if your child has any prescribed and/or over the counter medication left over in the health suite that you would like returned to you, you have two options.  You may pick up the medication at the health suite five days prior to the end of the school year during the hours of school operation, or you may return a completed permission form to the health suite and the medication will be given to your child for transport home.  Please click here for a copy of this permission form.  Additional copies of this permission form may be obtained from the health suite. If you do not pick up the medication or return this permission form by the above stated deadline, the medication will be destroyed.  No medication will be held over the summer.  Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.  If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact a school nurse.

Fred S. Engle Middle School students are required to read one novel over the summer. Students will complete a test on their selected novel uponreturning to school in the fall. Plseas click on the following links for more informaition.

Please note that, due to unforeseen circumstances, Engle’s Choral/Orchestral Concert scheduled for Tuesday, May 13, 2008 has been rescheduled for Friday, May 30, 2008.  This concert will begin at 7:30 p.m.  A letter announcing this change was sent home with all choral and orchestral students on Wednesday, May 7, 2008.  The Band Concert will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at 7:30 p.m., as originally scheduled.

The Avon Grove School District is in the process of developing a District wide Strategic Plan for 2008-2013 in accordance with the Regulations of the State Board of Education. The intent of the plan is to enhance the capacity of the school district to encourage, support and sustain continuous improvement in the quality of education provided to students. Our focus throughout the process is to improve our present educational program and set high expectations for the achievement for all students. Components of the Strategic Plan are in draft form and have been posted on the District Web site for your review and feedback. We welcome you to read the posted documents and provide comments to the committee as they continue to work on the development of the plan.
