June 18, 2008

Fred S. Engle Middle School will host its annual Take-a-Look Day on Wednesday, August 27, 2008.  This event will afford students the opportunity to meet their new teachers and get a firsthand look at their new classrooms.  Students with last names beginning with A-L may visit the school from 1:00-1:45, while students with last names beginning with M-Z may visit the school from 2:15-3:00.  Please observe these times as the school attempts to provide ample parking.  We look forward to welcoming you to a new school year!

2008 Required Summer Reading Assignment

Fred S. Engle Middle School students are required to read one novel over the summer. Students will complete a test on their selected novel upon returning to school in the fall. Please click on the following links for more information.

District to Form Class Size Task Force

June 9, 2008

The Avon Grove School District is in the process of chartering a Class Size Task Force to review Board Policy #126. As an outcome of this project, guidelines for class size for grades kindergarten through 12 will be developed and presented to the Avon Grove Board of School Directors. AGSD Strategic Plan (Draft)

April 25, 2008

The Avon Grove School District is in the process of developing a District wide Strategic Plan for 2008-2013 in accordance with the Regulations of the State Board of Education. The intent of the plan is to enhance the capacity of the school district to encourage, support and sustain continuous improvement in the quality of education provided to students. Our focus throughout the process is to improve our present educational program and set high expectations for the achievement for all students. Components of the Strategic Plan are in draft form and have been posted on the District Web site for your review and feedback. We welcome you to read the posted documents and provide comments to the committee as they continue to work on the development of the plan.
