Bring Life to Technology In a Biology Classroom ...  Literally!

Kim O’Leary - Fred S. Engle Science Teacher
Joyce Perry - AGSD Instructional Technology Specialist

Life science can become a world of discovery when organisms are seen through computer microscopes.  Grab that digital camera or the camcorder and you can see the microscopic world in a whole new way.  Students can even create PowerPoint presentations from the clips and images for a culminating activity.

Incorporate technology, art and science through song!  After creating their own song, students can bring any science topic to stage.  Garage band and creativity produce number one hits like “Protist, Protist, Baby” and “It’s a Protist World After All”.

Through hands-on activities and student models, this interactive session will have you ready to put an ahh in the science classroom.
An assessment will be a “Protist Performance” where small groups of students will create a song using GarageBand.

Standard/Benchmark: To describe the similarities and differences that characterize diverse living things/ and To Describe how the structures of living things help them function in unique ways.
