As part of the Avon Grove School District’s ongoing efforts to provide a challenging, quality education for students while maximizing efficiencies, District officials regularly review and evaluate staffing needs, as well as analyze comparative data from other school districts throughout the county and the state.
Based on a review of data from 2009-2010 published in the December 17, 2010, edition of the Pennsylvania School Boards Association’s (PSBA) “School Leader News,” Avon Grove School District has significantly fewer administrators per student when compared to 487 other Pennsylvania school districts.
According to the report, large districts with 4,359 or more students had an average ratio of 187 pupils for each administrative position. In February of 2011, Avon Grove’s pupil-per-administrator ratio was 245 to 1.
In February of 2011, the average pupil-per-administrator ratio in Chester County Public School Districts was 158 students per administrator. At a ratio of 245 students per administrator, the Avon Grove School District has the fewest administrators per student in Chester County.
