Transportation Frequently Asked Questions
When I register my child at a school, do I need to contact the transportation
office to set up busing? If I register my child at school during the summer, how do I get the bus information? Letters are sent home in August prior to the start of school with bus information. All bus schedules are posted on the Avon Grove Web site as well as in local newspapers. My Child needs to be picked up and dropped off at a day care facility. Will there be busing available? Yes, subject to certain rules and the availability of a scheduled bus route. When pick-up and/or drop-off has been arranged for a day care/babysitter’s stop, no changes will be allowed except back to the home stop unless the sitter goes out of business. Request for pick-up and drop-off at other than the home stop must be submitted by July 31, for the up coming school year. Permission for the student pick up and /or drop-off at day care/babysitter’s stop will be contingent upon the bus having room for these students and that there is a scheduled bus stop. An exception to the bus stop requirement may be made for the mid day school run which may permit adding additional stops on established bus route. No students will be transported to babysitters and/or day care facilities outside the attendance boundaries of the Avon Grove School District. Bus stops will be designed on a yearly basis thought the scheduling process. How does the transportation office find out my child needs busing from day care? Parents need to fill out a day care provider form available at the school office. A new form needs to be completed every year. My child attends a non public school, and has a need for day care what do I do? Students who attend non public schools who have a need for day care need to contact the Transportation Department and submit their request in writing. My family moved during the school year. Who do I contact with the new information? The parents of the students attending of our four public schools need to contact the child’s school. The parents of students who attend private or charter schools need to notify the respective school and submit to the Avon Grove School District Transportation Department in order for the transportation department to up date its records and assign the correct bus. If I have a complaint about a bus driver or problem on the bus, whom do I call? Contact the transportation office immediately at (610) 869 2441 or e-mail Rae Dunn. If I have a complaint about a bus stop, whom do I call? You would need to contact the transportation office. If you are requesting a change to an existing bus stop, we require all requests in writing. Request can be sent to us through the school office e-mail, faxed or through the regular mail.
