March is Youth Art Month and to celebrate we will be holding our annual exhibit. This year’s theme is "Mini-Me." Create a miniature self-portrait no bigger than 4" by 6". Use your favorite medium, pencil, marker, crayon... Then fill out the green form that came home in Thursday folders or pick one up from the art room and deliver your art and form to Ms. Benjamin or Mrs. Hallman by Friday, February 25th. We will hang the exhibit outside the library for all to see and enjoy during the month of March. All participants will be invited to an opening party on March 4th from 8:00-8:30 AM in the art room.

From The Art Department: Third Grade
One of the Renaissance artists that third grade students learn about during their art cycle is Leonardo daVinci. Parents may be interested to know that a lively exhibit about Leonardo recently opened at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. The exhibit runs from now until May 22. While the exhibit certainly honors Leonardo’s talents as a scientist and inventor, it has not overlooked his artistic life because it also includes reproductions of several of his famous paintings. More information can be found at www.fi.edu/leonardo/Exhibition_Information.html.
