Intermediate School students will be dismissed at 1:05 PM. Breakfast will

Winter Weather Has Arrived
December 15, 2010 Serious
weather conditions or other emergencies may make it necessary to close
school, delay the opening of school, or dismiss students early. As in
the past, the district will be utilizing the Edulink call system to notify
parents of cancellations or delays. We have been working with the Edulink
technical support team related to the efficiency of our call deliveries.
Since the system is voice activated, either your answering machine will
trigger the message, or, if you pick up, you must say “hello.”
We find many parents pick up to listen but do not use their voice to activate
the message.
In addition, emergency information will be posted on the District web
site and will be broadcast on the radio and television. Please monitor
these communication systems as needed. We ask that you do not call the
school, as unnecessary phone calls will tie up our phone lines and personnel
needed to deal with the emergency.
In the event of an emergency school closing, students need to know what
to do when they get home in the event that you are not there. Please discuss
appropriate arrangements with your child prior to any unforeseen emergency
situation.
Please note that when school is cancelled, all after-school or evening
programs or activities for that day are also cancelled.
(Breakfast is not served on late opening days.)

your hands after doing so.

water is not readily available.

First in Math Update
December 2, 2010 As of December
1, we have earned 1,057,805 stickers and have correctly solved 3,173,415
math problems! The students are working furiously on their math skills
with the First In Math Program. The teachers have been excited about the
carry-over of skills from the games to the classroom. The automaticity
of facts is essential to the success of students in much of the math content.
Thanks to the parents who are supporting their student's math success
by participating in the family component of the program.
