Impact of State Budget Impasse on AGSD

August 20, 2009 Although we are dealing with some uncertainties regarding the state budget and the level of state funding Avon Grove will receive for 2009-2010, our school community remains focused on our vision to help all students achieve individual excellence. Our primary goal is to continue to provide a challenging and engaging educational experience for our students each day. While we wait for the state budget to be finalized, the District has taken steps to temporarily maintain several instructional positions as well as add several teaching positions to support class size reduction. We also continue to monitor district expenditures. We are prepared to welcome students and start the new school year on August 31. We look forward to partnering with our parents and community for another successful school year. As more information becomes available on the state budget, we will share updates with our parents and school community.

8/31/09: First Day of School, Full Day-8:25 to 3:10
