Volunteer PolicySeptember, 2005 “Effective
July 1, 2005, building level administra-tors are responsible for ensuring
that all volunteers having direct contact with children shall undergo
and complete criminal background and child abuse clearance checks prior
to serving. Such clearances are to be maintained by the principal at
each school. Volunteers shall be reimbursed for the cost of these clearances,
i.e., $10.00 for the Act 34 clearance, $10.00 for the Act 151 clearance,
and $24.00, if necessary, for the FBI clearance) after filing appropriate
receipts. The clearance requirement shall not apply to a volunteer for
a single event where the volunteer will have no contact with children
other than under the direct supervision and in the physical presence

As of March
18, 2005, no activities are to take place on the Avon Grove High School
athletic fields and tennis courts. This includes the grounds
from the softball fields on the top of the hill
north to State Road and from the student parking
lot east to Rose Hill Road. A fence has been
erected to delineate the boundaries of the stadium/athletic
field improvement project. No one may be permitted
east of the fence until the completion of the
project, which is scheduled to be about mid August.
Also, all activities in the student parking lot should
be limited to parking during school hours only. All after
school activities in the lot must be curtailed during
the construction period except for school events. There
will be many large vehicles and a great deal of equipment
passing through this lot until late in each day of the
construction. This order is for the welfare of public
safety and should be taken seriously. The Avon Grove
School District thanks you for complying with this order
and looks forward, along with you, to enjoying our new
