Solar System Websites

Let's write some Planetary Poetry!  Please do the Webquest called Poetry and the Planets.

Check out these sites as you investigate our solar system and the planets.

Amazing Space:  Amazing Space is a set of web-based activities and games designed for classroom use, but made available for all to enjoy.

Kids Astronomy:  A universe of discovery about the solar system, space exploration and deep space. This is a very interactive site.

Star Child:  A Learning Center for Young Astronomers. This is another very interactive site for children. It has two levels of information - one easier and one more challenging.

Solar System Tour:  Another interactive, "kid oriented" site with great information and activities.

Nine Planets:  The Nine Planets is an overview of the history, mythology, and current scientific knowledge of each of the planets and moons in our solar system. Each page has text and images, some have sounds and movies, most provide references to additional related information.

Our Solar System:  This site has images of the sun and planets.  It also has different levels of difficulty - beginner to advanced.

Solar System Photo Journal
NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory site with current images and video.  The content is a bit challenging, but the images are great.

New York TImes Science - Solar System:  This site has great images and lots of information.  It has advertising and has been slow to load.

The Moon

The Phases of the Moon:  This interactive site shows the how our view of the moon changes as we revolve around the sun.
