Chipmunks are small animals. Chipmunks live up to 2-3 years. This is because hawks love to eat them. Chipmunks are herbivores. That means they eat nuts and seeds. Their natural habitat is Asia, North America, or in a burrow underground. The only time they leave their burrow is to get food. The chipmunk is 8 inches long. Its colors are white, brown, and black. Chipmunks are wild animals.

The elk is a mammal.  Elks eat plants and shrubs.  They also eat small tiny plants. Elk live in forests. They can also live in woody areas.  Their antlers can grow up to 5 feet. They have at least 12 points on their antlers. The elk was found in Canada.  Elk can travel from high mountains to low valleys. Elks are cool to learn about.

Things about the Weasel

The Weasel is a carnivore because it eats mice, frogs, and other animals that might be bigger than them. The Weasel kills other animals by biting them in the back of the neck when they aren’t looking. The Weasel lives in cracks, logs, burrows, and abandoned animal homes. Some Weasels stay close to the water because they might see their prey. The Weasel can eat and kill an animal that is larger than it is. Baby Weasels follow their mothers into a warmer den because the cause of winter.  All Weasels have long bodies, long thick necks, rounded ears, and long whiskers. The Least Weasel is the smallest type of Weasel because it measures less than 24 cm [9]

twigs and grass. In England their nest is called a dray.

Their enemies are the bobcat, cat, dog, foxes , and coyotes.

Squirrels are AMAZING animals.

                                               The Owl

Owls are birds that can fly. They have dark colored feathers so they can blend in with their habitat. Owls eat small animals like mice and they also eat big animals like rabbits. Big animals owls tear apart to eat. Owls live in the woodlands or fields near forests. They live there because they can blend in with their habitat. Owls wings are over 4 feet wide or more. Also owls can camouflage so they can get their food . Owls have amazing eye site.

Eagles are birds. Eagles eat meat. They eat mice, fish, and snakes. When eagles eat meat it is called a carnivore. Eagles build their nests near water. The reason is because they can get to the fish a lot easier.  Eagles, weigh up to 7 to12 pounds and sometimes they are 20 pounds. Eagles' eggs are 3 inches long 2inches across. Eagles are thought to live up to 20 to 30 years some times 500 years or more.

A hare is just like a rabbit.

They live in woods . When his enemies come the hare leaps away rapidly.

Bobcats like to live in trashed places.

GROUSE

 The grouse is a big bird.

A grouse is an omnivore. It eats berries, insects, and grain.

The males are about 17 inches. The females grow to be the same size.

Ruffed grouse live from Alaska to Georgia.

The nests are on the ground. The eggs are buff colored with brown spots. Hens lay 9-14 eggs.

The ruffed grouse is Pennsylvania’s state bird. 

MARTENS

Martens are like foxes.
They eat squirrels, birds, rabbits, and mice.
That makes them a carnivore.

They live on America’ s north east coast and all through Canada to Alaska. The Marten lives in a rocky place, and will live in a tree.

A Marten is 2 feet long and may weigh up to 3 pounds. A Marten has brown and grayish brown fur. Some have yellow fur too.

A female Marten will have 2 to 3 babies in its lifetime. Like a fox Martens do not lay eggs.
Marten are so cool.

Hawks are amusing birds. Hawks are carnivores that hunt animals. Hawks eat small birds, snakes, and rodents. Hawks live in forests. They live on the ground, in trees, on cliffs, and in bushes. The male hawk is 10-22 inches and the female hawk is 12 –26 inches. If it is disturbed it will whistle, scream, or chatter. It lays 2-6 eggs in a nest that is rough and not very soft. The eggs hatch after three or four weeks. Hawks have a really armed body.

The crow is about 17 to 21 inches long. It has a sharply pointed bill.

Crows eat corn/ wheat/and sorghum. People do not eat crows.

Crows live in trees. They live in North America.

Crows fly in a flock. It has glossy feathers.

Deer live in dens, nests ,and mountains in North America . Deer have no permanent homes. Deer are omnivores. They eat meat,and greens .The female carries  her babies  for six months . There are 60 different kinds of deer. Males are 7 1/2 feet long.(2.3 meters) Females have 1-4 babies  at  a time. Deer are cool animals.

Raccoons are mammals. A raccoon eats fish and some animals. A raccoon will eat plants. A raccoon lives in many places. It lives mostly in dirt caves. A raccoon is about 20 inches high. A raccoon’s face has a black strip around its eyes, and it looks like a mask. The raccoon takes about 1 day for it to have its babies. They like the water. A raccoon is a furry mammal.

Skunks are black and white.

Skunks have bushy tails and long fur.

Skunks eat reptiles, and insects.

Skunks eat fruit, and vegetables.

The spotted skunk lives in more of the United States.

The hog-nosed skunk and the hooded skunk live in the southwest.

Woodchuck can chuck wood. They chuck logs and bark.

A dabbling duck is a type of bird. They flip into water to catch fish for food. A dabbling duck start to hover and flap to fly. They have 4 inch beaks and small gripping teeth for hunting to grip slippery things like fish. A dabbling duck will live in wet places like swamps or rivers or streams.

Instead of diving a dabbling duck will tip bottom up and swim to the bottom of the lake or swamp or stream .It eats fish or plants.

Black   bears   are   great   animals.   Some   black   bears   have   color. Black   bears    have    black    and   brown   fur.   Some   black    bears   have   pink   noses.   Black    bears    have   big   sharp   claws.   Some   black   bears   fight   with   black   bears. Some    black    bears    eat    other    bears.    Black    bears    can     hunt    other    animals    that    are    bigger    then    it.    Black    bears    can    run    up    to    25 miles per   hour   a    day.    Black    bears    are     cool     creatures.

An opossum can get 1 foot and 6 inches. Some can get as big as a house cat.  An opossum  has very sharp teeth . They have 50 teeth in their mouth . They can eat any kind of animal.  Opossums will eat oats. Opossums hunt at night.  Some hunt for fish.

An opossum will eat dead rabbits.

The red fox is a mammal. The fox is an omnivore. The red fox eats  mice,  chickens, plants, dead animals and insects. The red fox lives in these countries, Asia, North America and Europe. Foxes live in dens and woods. The male fox protect the female while she is hiding. The tail of the red fox has white at the end. The ones that live in Alaska are almost black. Foxes live to be 14 years old or younger. People can put foxes on farms. Foxes are cool.   

The European catfish may grow more than 10 feet  [3 meters] long  and  may  weigh  as  much  as  400 pounds [180 kilograms]. There are three kinds of  catfish   like  the  glass catfish , the  blue catfish,  and  the  armored catfish . There is also  the  upside -  down catfish.  There   is  the   electric catfish .The  electric catfish  may  give  off  a  shock.  Catfish whiskers  are  called barbels. Catfish usually have two  pairs  of  whiskers. Catfish  are  cool fish.

Bats look different.

Vampire bats live in Central Mexico.

Bats live in caves.

Vampire bats grow up to 2.75 and 3.5 inches.

Vampire bats fly up to 12 miles per hour.

Bats are mammals.

Porcupines are small.

It uses its spikes so it does not get hurt. If an animal tries to hurt it the porcupine hurts  them back. That is its way it does not get hurt.

If a weasel wants to hurt it the weasel flips the porcupine over because its stomach is soft.
