STUDENT OF THE MONTH


DEVON CAMAROTA

MARCH 2008




Devon Camarota has been named the Rotary Student of the Month for March. Devon is the daughter of Ron and Colleen Camarota of West Grove. Devon is the Captain of the Varsity Volleyball Team, Student Forum Representative, Junior Class Secretary, Board of Education Representative and a member of National Honor Society and Student Council. Devon volunteers for After the Bell at Kennett Middle School and the Therapeutic Riding Program at Carousel Park. Devon’s honors include Honorable Mention for 2006/2007 Volleyball District and academic awards in World Cultures, Environmental Science and Physical Education. Devon hopes to attend American University where she plans to major in Political Science or Journalism. She later hopes to obtain a law degree. She feels Mrs. Worrell, Mrs. Boyes, Mr. Cotter and Ms. Winterbotton have influenced her the most at Avon Grove.

STEVEN SHARP

APRIL 2008




Steven Sharp has been named as the Rotary Student of the Month for April. Steven is the son of Steve and Diane Sharp of West Grove. Steven is involved in Marching Band, Jazz Band, Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Pit Band, Pep Band and Tri-M Music Honor Society. Steven’s community activities include Boy Scouts, West Grove Presbyterian Church Praise Band and ACT Pit Orchestra. Steven’s honors include District Band, District Orchestra, Region Band, Region Orchestra, All-State Band, Spanish I award and Class Rank 9th. Steven plans to attend college and major in Music Education. He hopes to be successful as a music teacher or a professional musician. He feels that Mr. Evans, Dr. Streckfuss, Mr. Weaver and Mr. Halat have influenced him the most here at Avon Grove.

BRIAN ARENCIBIA

MARCH 2008


Brian Arencibia has been named the Lions Club Student of the Month for March. Brian is the son of Manny and Sophia Arencibia of West Grove. Brain is involved in many school activities. He holds a leadership positions in the Leo club, Amnesty International, Academic Competition Team and AGYEA. He is also very involved in many community activities such as Project R.A.K.E., Migrant Education, Easter Seals, Delaware Hospice and a Lions Club volunteer. His list of honors include a Health Award, Leo of the Year, Leo Outstanding Service Award, Lions Club President’s Appreciation Award and a Technical Education Award for Basic Metal. Brian plans to go to college, major in business and eventually open his own business. Brian wishes to thank Mrs. Lock, Mrs. Koepp-Baker and Mr. Jones for having the most influence on him at Avon Grove.

REBECCA PHILLIPS

APRIL 2008


Rebecca Phillips has been named the Lions Club Student of the Month for April. Rebecca is the daughter of John and Cathy Phillips of Landenberg. Rebecca is the President of the Amnesty International Club, a member of Marching Band, Varsity Academic Competition team, National Honor Society, SADD, Avon Grove Youth Education Association, LEO Club, Tri-M Music Honor Society and Friends of Rachel Club. Rebecca’s honors include a Senior Leadership, Silver and Gold Awards for Girl Scouts, Top Ten, Leo Club, SADD, AGYEA Active Member Awards, AP European History and AP Environmental Science awards. Rebecca plans to attend college. While there, she wants to double major in Environmental Engineering and International Relations and minor in French. Rebecca wishes to thank Mr. Habbart, Mrs. Schrader, Mr. Zook, Mrs. Creamer and Mrs. DeCecchis for influencing her the most while at Avon Grove.
