Volunteer!
Enrich, Educate, and Empower Students
For most school volunteers, three background check clearances are needed (Act 34, Act 151, and FBI clearance). In addition, any volunteer who serves more than 10 hours per week or per event with the same students, on or off campus, must undergo a tuberculosis (TB) examination which can be obtained through the prospective volunteer’s physician. Click the "i" button at right for more information.

Fingerprinting is necessary for the federal criminal history report clearance.
On-site Fingerprinting Sessions are Scheduled:

  •  August 29 at the Avon Grove High School cafeteria. (These slots are filled. Confirmations were sent to volunteer candidates for appointment times.  If you did not receive a confirmation, the sessions are full. Walk-ins cannot be accommodated.)
  • September 24 at the Avon Grove Intermediate School cafeteria. (These slots are filled. Confirmations were sent to volunteer candidates for appointment times.  If you did not receive a confirmation, the sessions are full. Walk-ins cannot be accommodated.)
  •  September 30 at Avon Grove Intermediate School. (These slots are filled. Confirmations were sent to volunteer candidates for appointment times. If you did not receive a confirmation, the sessions are full. Walk-ins cannot be accommodated.)
Preregistration is Required for Fingerprinting

Step 1

Step 2 - All three fingerprinting appointment times hosted by Avon Grove School District are full. The CCIU sent confirmations to volunteer candidates who requested appointment slots through the online registration form. Slots were filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Fingerprinting is provided on an ongoing basis through the Chester County Intermediate Unit Teacher Center located at 455 West Boot Road in Downingtown, Pa. Applicants must register with Cogent Systems prior to visiting the Teacher Center to be fingerprinted. Please see the Chester County Intermediate Unit’s Web site at www.cciu.org and click “Fingerprinting” under “Site Shortcuts” for hours of operation, fee information and additional details.
Step 3 - Bring your Cogent Systems Registration ID number and a valid state/government photo identification card (driver’s license, state photo ID card, valid U.S. passport) to the fingerprinting session.
Step 4 - The FBI clearance report will be sent to you via the U.S. mail. Prior to volunteering, please bring the report to the building principal.
